Meet Mr. Scott
Hello, my name is Scott Durr. I am a professional storyteller and educator in Woodstock, GA. I have a BS in Early Childhood Education and over 19 years experience teaching and working with early learners.
During my years in the classroom, I discovered how much of a positive impact storytelling and music had on my students. A fun learning environment produces motivated and enthusiastic children. The goal of my interactive shows is to continue to provide early visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners with the educational benefits of creative storytelling, music, and dance while laying the foundation for a lifelong love of books, reading, and performing arts.
The National Institute for Literacy defines and discusses, through research-based knowledge, the 5 core areas of reading and the effectiveness of different approaches used to teach children to read. Phonemic awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary, and Comprehension.

Through creative storytelling that centers around select children’s favorites, our program supports these core areas by integrating key components such as rhyme, word play, modeling voice intonation and inflection, high frequency (Dolch) sight words, and student engagement.
